So I only have two weeks to finish my film! I’ve decided to change my method. I only have a few more seconds to animate so I’m fine there but clean up is gonna be BUTTS! So Instead of actually coloring my film traditionally I’m going to turn it into a notebook scrap paper style! I was so excited when I figured this out I screamed and threw my hat graduation style. I’M GONNA MAKE THIS DEADLINE AND IT’S GONNA LOOK REALLY COOL!!!

Kaitlyn Carroll rockin’ the texture game.

Some sneak peeks of Luz’s and my thesis film, Moonstruck. I can’t believe the year is over but it’s been so much fun and we’re both so happy with how our film turned out!

My film character, Rome, drawn and colored in photoshop! Just a practice I did, gotta get on that photoshop painting grind for homework things. I think i’m getting a lot better at this whole digital medium thing!
Welp, back to finals.

SVA ANIMATION BLOG FAQ

Welcome to the student-run blog for the traditional animation department at the School of Visual Arts in New York City!

A round of applause for your resident blog mods:
Sam (class of ‘15)
Mike (class of ‘15)
Diego (class of ‘15)
Kirby (class of ‘15)
Luz (class of ‘14)

Submissions:

  • The artist must be either a current student, pre-college participant, continuing ed student, or alumni of the Traditional Animation department at SVA.
  • The submission should include the name of the artist and a link to their blog/website (EVEN IF IT’S YOUR OWN ART! We don’t know everyone’s tumblr names by heart!)
  • We will not queue up anything that does not include an artist name. (can you tell this has been a problem? haha)
  • Please please please do not hit submit if it’ll include a request to reblog a link. Those should go in the ask box.

Asks:

  • Um … I don’t know what to include here but just remember to be polite.
  • If you are sending a request for us to reblog something of yours, please still include your name for reference.
  • We can answer to the best of our ability anything regarding the blog, the department, portfolios, and lil’ life advice. However, our goal is not to have definite answers to everything, rather, foster a friendly and helpful network of students and former students so just keep that in mind.
  • This blog does not directly reflect the Traditional Animation department at SVA. Nothing we do/say should be taken to heart regarding the administration.

Any other questions that I’ve missed, direct them to the ask box and I’ll get to them as soon as I can :)
